Learn Spanish, Culture, Adventure and Machu Picchu

Learn Spanish, experience the best of Peru and meet new friends! How cool does it sound!? Well, it`s possible. Our Spanish immersion program is the best choice for the adventurous traveler. On this program you will learn Spanish very fast and you will be soaked up by Peruvian culture. What we offer is a unique way to learn Spanish with:

4 weeks of Spanish group lessons, 4 weeks of accomodation in Cusco, 3 of the best excursions in Peru and 1 tour to Machu Picchu!

During the 4,5-week program you will learn Spanish from Monday to Friday, 20 hours a week. Classes are always in a small group with a maximum of 4 students. The groups are for a reason very small, because we want you to give you the best learning experience. You will follow this intensive Spanish course for 4 weeks with our language school in Peru. In total you will have 80 hours of Spanish lessons during your month in Cusco. The Spanish school in Cusco is from a midsize level and is very professional. Together with their entire team, they do everything to give you a good time in Cusco. What we love about the school is their personal touch. That`s very important for us. You will be part of the school family and meet many nice people from all over the world.

The program

This Spanish immersion program includes 3 tours, which you will do on the weekends. There is still lot of time for wandering around Cusco and you end the program after 4 weeks of Spanish lessons with a trip to Machu Picchu.

1st weekend Rainbow Mountain

Rainbow mountain is one of the extraordinary Cusco hikes. You should add it to your bucket list and for this reason we include this must-do day trip to your program. You will see the beautiful Rainbow Mountain and the red valley, a series of high Andean landscapes full of rainbow colors. Without a doubt, it will be one of the most impressive landscapes that you will ever see, and a great opportunity to take your camera out of your pocket!

2nd weekend Sacred Valley of the Incas

You will do a day trip to the Sacred Valley, this is a beautiful valley with amazing views of the glacial mountains. It´s about a hour ride from Cusco and the ideal place to learn everything about small Peruvian villages and Inca history. On this fully guided tour you will get detailed explanations about the five most significant places in the Sacred Valley. Where you can witness Inca ruins, a colonial temple, typical villages and interact with local people.

3rd weekend Rafting or Lake Titicaca weekend trip

During the 3rd weekend of your program. The choice is yours. Join an adventurous trip for spectacular rafting or go on a cultural experience with our 2 day tour to Lake Titicaca.

Rafting

You need to take a set of dry clothing on our language program. We include a rafting trip, on one of the most important rivers in Peru. Rafting is world-class in this section and full of adrenaline, with fast rapids. The company we work with are professionals and specially trained, so you can enjoy your rafting trip with total safety and comfort.

Lake Titicaca

If you rather go on a full weekend expedition, then join us for our trip to Lake Titicaca. On Friday night you will leave Cusco for an adventure to Puno. After a 6,5 hours night bus ride you will arrive in the morning at the Lake, where you hop on a boat to visit 2 of the main islands of Lake Titicaca, including the impressive floating reed islands. There you will meet your local homestay family. With them you spend the night on one of the islands, this is an incredible experience! You will participate in cultural activities and watch a traditional show. The second day you continue on the Lake and see another authentic village. When finished in the afternoon, we return to Punto. At night you will take the bus back to Cusco, arriving early on Monday morning.

End of program with Machu Picchu

Of course, you can`t visit Cusco without a trip to Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world. Because we love adventure, we organize after your 4 weeks of Spanish lessons a 4 day Inca jungle trek to Machu Picchu. Higlights will be mountainbiking, ziplining, hiking and a visit to Machu Picchu. You will take in the majestic views of the Andes mountains on this trekking and you hike a part of the famous Inca trail. Along with a group of new friends you enjoy this adventure. There are many nice spots like the Colcamayo hot springs, a natural and outdoor hot spring where you can relax your muscles. But the highlight is Macchu Picchu. On a guided 2,5 guided tour you learn about the Inca empire and after that you have free time to explore on your own this beautiful place. Finally, we go back to Cusco, with a once in a lifetime experience in your pocket.

If you prefer to end this language program with another tour to Machu Picchu then we can also arrange this for you. The other options we offer are a 2-day trip by train, the 5 day Salkanty trek and the original Inca trail.

Accommodation

During this Spanish language program you will stay for 4 weeks until the Machu Picchu tour close to the school in a student apartment. You will have your own private room in a shared apartment with other students. Fun guaranteed! But if you want to have a unique Peruvian experience, then you can stay also with a host family for an additional price. With a homestay experience you have your own bedroom and you will share the rest of the house with the family. All meals are included and it`s a unique opportunity to be welcomed by a Peruvian family and practice your Spanish skills. This accomodation option is the most popular one in Cusco

Spanish Travel Classes organizes language trips to Latin America. We have fallen in love with Latin America and that`s why we know this continent like the back of our hand. We have local knowledge & contacts, and we only work with the best Spanish schools in all countries where we organize our language trips. We can tell you exactly the difference between our schools: about the Spanish lessons, the vibe at school, the place where the school is in relation to the tourist attractions of that place etc. We are in direct contact with our partner schools with whom we can connect immediately. If there are any problems, we will not let you down. Our team makes it possible to be available 24/7 with whatever you need. The advantage of Spanish Travel Classes is also that we keep our costs low by working remote and by being a small online travel agency. Other tour operators calculate their profit based on the commission they receive from a school, and they also charge reservation costs. They will therefore prefer to send you to the school where the profit is highest for them. This is not how we work. We on the contrary: we offer a BEST-PRICE-GUARANTEE. When you book a Spanish course through Spanish Travel Classes, we don´t charge you for our services. You get the same price or even lower, as when you book directly with the school. What’s for us the most important, is QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, that you choose the language program that best matches your needs. We don't care which school you go to so we can give you always honest and personal advice. This may sound strange to you but it`s a very important difference between Spanish Travel Classes and other travel agencies. So, start to compare programs or get in touch with us to find out more about how you can learn Spanish in Latin America.

When you find your language trip and know where you want to learn Spanish in Latin America, we recommend that you first book your flight. With a flight reservation it`s easier to process your reservation. We can arrange airport transfers and extra nights for accommodation when required. If you arrive overland from another country, please inform us about this. When you have your flight information, follow the steps with booking from the desired language trip and make a booking request. You will receive an invoice by email, and we ask you for your approval. We request a 50% deposit payment of the total invoice sum, to guarantee the reservation. {Please note: due the COVID-19 pandemic, you can book your language trip at this moment with no deposit payment and the option to change or cancel your program at no cost} After this step we reserve for you the lessons, accommodation and often the transfer to the school. We expect your remaining payment to be done at least 30 days before the start of the program. If you book shorter before departure, we expect your payment immediately after we have received confirmation from the school. After receiving your payment, we will send you proof of payment and travel information with information about the school, the place and the country you are going to study Spanish.

´Donde está el baño? (Where is the toilet?) and ´2 cervezas por favor´ (2 beer please). Of course, such kind of phrases are essential when you travel around Latin America. But how long does it take to have better conversations? Very good ´pregunta´! It depends on several things like your prior knowledge of Spanish, your language skills and of course your commitment to do homework. But in general, we can say (and with my own personal experience in mind) that someone without much prior knowledge and a normal sense of language. Will be able to have small basic conversations of Spanish after six weeks of studying.

In many places in Latin America, people speak little or no English. For that reason, it´s nice to be able to communicate a little bit with the locals. Your travels will be so much better and easier. So, check out our language programs today!

At the schools you will meet also other students with ages ranging from 18 to 65 years. But the average age will usually be between 20 and 30 years. To participate in our language trips, you must be at least 18 years old. There are no age limits for most of our programs. Although on most of our language trips you will meet mostly young travelers with an adventurous mindset.

If a transfer is included in the trip, we will write this down in the trip facts and mentinon it under the tab `TRIP INCLUDES`. But for most of our adventures, transfers to and from the airport are not included. If you prefer a pre-arranged transfer, these are usually available at an additional cost. Please follow the steps with your booking and select them as your `TRIP EXTRA`.

Yes, you can! In each language trip we include the cheapest accommodation option for you. But in most cases, you can book an upgrade to other types of accommodations. Different prices will apply for private rooms, double rooms, and homestay experiences. Additional accommodation (extra nights before or after your language trip) can also be booked for your language trip. Please follow the steps with your booking and select an accommodation upgrade or additional nights as your desired `TRIP EXTRA`.

We always recommend to travel with a backpack, especially if you travel a lot from place to place. A backpack is also useful in case you are going to do an overnight hike where a (large) backpack must be carried. In case you take your suitcase with you, pay attention to the size.

We strongly advise students to take out (ongoing) travel or medical & cancellation insurance in their home country, if you do not already have one. Also think of any additional insurance (such as when you go rafting, ziplining or another extreme sport)

With most passports you will receive a VISA on Arrival upon arrival in the country in Latin America. So, you don't have to prepare this in advance. An exception is Cuba, for this you must apply for a visa online in advance (processing time is only 1 day). It`s essential that you check the visa requirements of every country you will be visiting with the local embassy, consulate, or a reputable visa handling company such as ´visalink` for the most up to date visa information before you travel. If you transfer to Canada or in the US and continue with your travels to Latin America, it`s mandatory to apply for an ETA or ESTA. Are you traveling through Canada? Then you need to apply for an ETA. The best and cheapest way to apply for your ETA is on the official Government of Canada website. The costs for applying for an ETA are for your own account and it`s your own responsibility to apply for it. Are you traveling via the USA? Then you need to apply for an ESTA. The best and cheapest way to apply for your ESTA is on the official U.S. website. Customs and Border Protection. The costs for applying are for your own account and it is your own responsibility to apply.

If you go to Latin America, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return to your home country.

The sockets are not the same as in Europe, Asia, or Australia. It´s therefore useful to take an adapter with you. It´s the same outlet as in the US/Canada.

It´s important that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date health information for the region you will be visiting. The only person authorized to provide you with this information is your family doctor, or a specialist from a travel clinic. They can provide you with advice and the latest updates. The need for malaria pills also differs per country. Here too, we recommend that you seek medical advice for the latest information.

We always recommend that you bring as light luggage as possible, although the specific recommendations for your language program in Latin America can vary greatly depending on the place and time. So, what do I need to pack? No worries! We will send you a specific packing list before your language trip. You will receive our detailed travel information 1 month before departure. But to answer already one frequently asked question, about a mosquito net: yes, or no? The answer to this is `No`, you don`t need to bring a mosquito net. In places where a mosquito net is necessary, such as in the jungle, it`s available at the accommodation. Mosquito repellent is of course a no brainer!

Safety is our top priority for Spanish Travel Classes on your language trip. We always keep a close eye on security in the different countries and political situations. Through our partners we are always aware of the most current situation. It´s relatively safe to travel in Latin America. But we always ask you to go out with common sense. For example, don't go out alone in the evening and don't wear flashy jewelry or watches. By following a few simple rules, the risk of theft/aggression is very low

You have coverage in Latin America with your SIM card, but you can´t use your mobile subscription or data. Fortunately, there is Wi-Fi in many places so you can let people know at home how amazing it is in Latin America. In addition, you can buy a local SIM card, so that you can always stay in touch with your family and friends

We always recommend that you bring a credit card. This way you will never be faced with surprises in an emergency. Visa Card is the most widely accepted credit card in Latin America; with this, cash can also withdraw from larger banks in cities in case of emergency In many places in Latin America, you can only pay with cash. So, don´t expect that you can swipe with your pass as you are used to in your home country. But you can withdraw the local currency at an ATM. We always recommend that you keep your credit card and debit card separate from each other in different places. Also bring some cash dollars, it´s useful in case of emergency.

Wages are generally low in Latin America and therefore it´s always advisable to tip, although this is of course not mandatory.

Just click on the CONTACT button or reach out to us on WhatsApp with your question, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
